Founded in 1959, FUJI Corporation has consistently pushed the boundaries of innovation in the world of manufacturing, evolving from its origins as a machine tool manufacturer to its current foray into the field of robotics. Today, we proudly introduce the “Hug,” a transfer support robot, chosen from among the diverse range of robots developed by our esteemed clients.

The “Hug” is designed to provide support in caregiving scenarios, making tasks like transferring from bed to wheelchair or wheelchair to the restroom easier and less physically taxing for both caregivers and care recipients. ARRK had the privilege of assisting in the design of “Hug L1.”

Originally designed with metal covers for use in caregiving facilities and rehabilitation centers, the increasing need for in-home care has prompted FUJI to enhance the traditional “Hug” model for general household use. Thus began the development of “Hug L1,” a new model tailored for seamless in-home caregiving.

To bring FUJI’s vision to life, ARRK embraced several challenges:
– Transitioning from metal covers to resin, optimizing the design for in-home care.
– Implementing a design based on DFM (Design for Manufacturability) to meet FUJI’s production methods and cost requirements.

When FUJI Corporation contacted ARRK, we provided them with our all-encompassing “Package Solution,” designed to support the complete development of their desired product. During the design phase, we took the time to carefully listen to our client’s requirements and proposed concept designs that aligned with their vision. By offering a variety of designs, encompassing both rounded and linear aesthetics, we provided multiple options to bring FUJI Corporation’s vision closer to reality.

ARRK’s one-stop services effectively cater to our clients’ needs. Through design proposals and designs oriented towards mass production, we provided various perspectives to our clients. The completion of “Hug L1,” a robot designed to make mobility easier in the context of in-home caregiving, was a significant milestone for both FUJI Corporation and ARRK.
